Need for CSR intervention in Skill Development…. by Devidas Golhar
An independent survey confirms that the CSR spending on Education under CSR is very meager. Even though, the Company Act on CSR have come up with suggestive guidelines / areas of CSR interventions, wherein Education / Skill Development is a priority area, corporate still seem to be wary of this fact. Such an intervention could be possibly worked out through institutional tie-ups with institutes who are professionally dedicated to skill development. This strategic alliance would take care of the skill requirement of the corporate and on other hand would help enhance the employability of individuals. Its time corporate shift their ad-hoc approach to more planned and executable skill development projects.
